After a very difficult pregnancy with lots of scans, A CVS and then going on to having an amnio,
from start to finish a very long 7 weeks with all the tests coming back inconclusive for a
chromosone problem called mosiac turners syndrome, but we carried on as we needed to be 100% sure
that there was a problem and were there was still hope, we carried on fighting for him.
I knew that day that something wasnt right and went to the hospital on Friday to be told there was
no heartbeat, we had to wait until the Monday for a proper scan, but I already knew. Our little
dream boy Nathan was born on the 6th June after a short labour at 17 weeks, We were told that he had
been dead a little while, his due date was the 15th November 2007. To us he was perfect and we
held his tiny hand and said our goodbyes.
We have since found out that he had a chromosome problem and that if the pregnancy had progressed
that there would of been problems and although it helps in a way, we would not of wanted him to have
suffered, it doesnt make the pain of losing a little boy who was very much loved and wanted. He
gave a good fight but his little heart was too small and couldnt fight any longer.
He has a big Brother called Matthew (age 5) and a big sisiter called Lauren (age 3) who will know
about their little brother in time but our too young to understand right know.

After seening our consultant today, nathan would most certainly had major heart defects and also the
chromosome problems were quite bad. He told us that to begin with the pregnancy was perfectly normal
and when the cells started to split further into the pregnancy is when the problem occurred and that
it simply didnt spilt properly and there was and is nothing that we could of done to prevent it, it
just happens sometimes and most babies with a nuchual fold measurement of more than 4 do not make
full term and Nathan's was 4.9, so things were not looking good for him all round really but we
did everything we could to help him, he was only sent to be here with us as our guardian angel.
The risk of it happening again is no higher than before and our other children do not need to be
tested for anything as it started off as a heathly pregnancy.
Knowing he would of suffered if he had made it doesnt make the pain any less we still miss him so
much and will never forget him and will always have a huge place in our hearts.
